Last run for Wilson

Trail Split 56:00
Down 34:36

This is the same time hack as May 6th for my uphill time. I was around 3:30 faster on the way down. Well this is a downhill race.

Also had my BF tested. Lost 2%!

8.6

Second run in my new gloves was 8.6.

Mental notes - 9:30 to the trail head
34:00 to First Water (9:30 minutes faster since my times have been 34:00 from Mira Monte).
Continue up to Orchard 1:16:33
Down 49:28
8.6 miles = 2:06:01
Lets see what I can shave off on race day... no dogs, no hikers, no trekking poles.

Double 5Ks

Saturday's train wasn't as quick as I had hoped. In fact, it was slower than my last 5K up there.

Round 1 36:16
Rest half the time
Round 2 35:30

Neither of those are qualifying times.
Time hack - Round 1 was 21:00 to the gates
Round 2 was 20:48

Mt Wilson

With a month left to the race, I guess I'd better get serious about the training or I'll be in a world of hurt on May 28th. Well I'll still be in a world of hurt, but hopefully not quite so bad if I get up on that trail.

Thursday-
Starting point was Miramonte -Lizzies
Rope 40:10
Trail split above the ropes-almost the Helipad 55:59
Down-Umm-around 38:00 ? I remember looking at my watch but due to user error, the stop button wasn't depressed correctly. Opps.

First Water Not a Run

Don't know what happened but I couldn't even made it up to the trailhead! I got half way up the street, starting from Mira Monte & Mt. Wilson, and couldn't keep up a good pace. So Plan B was to just power hike as quick as I could and run down.

1st Water - 33:07
Down - 19:32

I LOVE being able to go out my back door and pick something. Today I used some fresh thyme.

Breakfast and lunch - not too exciting so I won't bore you on those details. If I decide to try something different I will definitely post it.

Dinner:
Turkey patties with procuitto and sun-dried tomatoes
Cherry tomato salad with sun dried tomatoes, red onions, olives and thyme.

The Ropes

Kersting to Ropes - 47:40
Return - 34:06

Times are faster than 2/27 to First water.

I hit first water today at around 39:+ so I know I shaved some time off. How? Well I weighed out last night to end the Paleo challenge and I'm down 9 lbs. and 7% in body fat. That probably helped.

I did alot of power hiking today and had an AHA moment. Sprinting and power hiking pretty much felt the same. So why do I like one and hate the other? Could it be roaming wild vs. hamster on a wheel?

First Water

To First Water 42:15
Back to Kerstings 31:12

I made it to First Water before Tommy and Donna! Whooo Hooo. I had probably a 30 minute head start, but I made it up before the WHOO HOO.

Yeah I was passed by Hopie, Tommy and Donna.
