I didn't finish the menu from yesterday so I'll complete it here. I went to Carl's Jr. on the way to class and had a low carb 6 $ burger-no cheese. So for $7 and change, you get a hamburger patti with a slice of tomato and onion wrapped in iceburg lettuce. The real deal? I think not but it works when 1. you don't have time to cook...2. you don't want to cook and/or 3. you just want someone else to do the work.
Dave's dinner was the sub in a tub from Mikes. All the fixings that go into a sub sandwich in a plastic tub instead of a loaf of bread.
Add to the weekly food price - about another $20
Todays Menu...
Breakfast - 2 eggs with 1/2 avocado and a chicken sausage patti. I guess I should be clear about the size of the sausage patti. We get a sausage link from the meat counter at Sprouts or Henrys. When I make the patties, I take the meat from the casing and make 4-5 patties-so they really aren't that big.
Lunch - Nitrate free roast beef lunch meat, almonds and a banana. Yes this is boring but it's Friday and I didn't have time to prepare something last night .... see what's written above.
Dinner? Don't know yet. It all depends on how I feel after Crossfit/bootcamp tonight.

Day 10 - breakfast much more exciting!
Breakfast and not an egg is site ;)
Granola I made yesterday with fresh blueberries. YUM. I only had 1/2 C but that was enough to satisfy the tastebuds and I added the chicken sausage for more protein.
Lunch is packed:
-baked squash drizzled with olive oil (I don't know if this is cheating or not, but I added about 1/2 tsp-not much- of blackstrap molassas)
-nitrate-free peppered beef lunch meat
-1/2 apple
I'd love to add the baked kale to munch on, but I don't think that will travel very well unless I put it in a hard container. I'm too lazy to be schlepping all that.
